Maadhula Rasam:(Pomogranate rasam)
Ingredients:
Pomogranate fruit - 1(make juice out of it)
Thoor dal cooked water alone - 2 cups
Tomato - 2
Lemon juice - from 2 fruits
Salt
Turmeric powder 1/4 spoon
Asafoetida 1/4 spoon
Coriander leaves few
Curry leaves few
Mustard seeds 1/2 spoon
Ghee few spoons.
To be roasted and powdered
Pepper 1 spoon
Cumin 2 spoons
Red red chilies 5
Curry leaves few
Thoor dal 1 spoon
Method:
In a large wok/kadai....heat ghee. Add mustard, asafoetida and curry leaves to this.
Now add thoor dal cooked water to this. Add salt, chopped tomatoes and powdered masala to this. Let it come to boiling point.
Then add pomogranate juice and lemon juice. Heat this.....less than one minute.
Add chopped coriander leaves and serve along with steam cooked basmati rice.
