Tofu 65:

Deep-Fried Tofu. Deep-fried Soya Paneer.

Variation:

Baked Tofu 65. Baked Soya Paneer.

Ingredients:

Tofu/ Paneer – 250 grams – cut into cubes
Coriander seeds powder 1 spoon
Chili powder 1 spoon
Ginger paste 1 spoon
Garlic paste 1 spoon
Salt
Soy sauce 2 spoons
Agino motto 1 pich
Egg white 1
Soya powder/Corn powder 2-4 spoons
Red food color(optional)
Lemon or Lime juice from 1 fruit
Oil for deep frying.
Curry leaves – crisply fried for garnishing.

Suggestion: Instead of deep frying, weight watchers can bake and broil it too.

Method:

In a clean bowl, bring all the above said items except oil and tofu. Mix them real good to achieve thick batter/ masala.

Now coat this batter over tofu evenly and gently. Leave them in fridge for nearly 2 whole hours.

Deep fry them in hot oil…..till reddish color.

Serve hot. Garnish with crisply fried curry leaves.

Variation:

Now instead of deep-frying….Spray little oil in an oven tray. Spread the marinated tofu in it. Leaving enough space between each piece.

Bake them for 20 minutes at 360 degree. Then for more crispier results…..broil them for 2 minutes over high temperature. Enjoy!

It can be treated as evening snack or side dish or a starter.
